Otahuhu is a suburb of Auckland. It is located 13 kilometers to the southeast of the city center, on a narrow strip between an arm of the Manukau Harbour to the west and the Tamaki River estuary to the east. This is the narrowest connection between the North Auckland Peninsula and the rest of the North Island, being only some 1,200 meters wide at its narrowest point. As the southernmost suburb of the former Auckland City, it is considered part of South Auckland.

Otahuhu Railway Station is located on the Eastern and Southern Lines of the Auckland rail network. It has an island platform layout and can be reached by pedestrian overbridges from Walmsey Road and Titi Street. Otahuhu station features a signal box and is the point where both freight and passenger trains enter and exit the main line from the Westfield locomotive depot.
Otahuhu Bus services, There are many regular buses which go to and from Otahuhu town centre. Most services travel along Great South Road. The nearest bus stop is only 4 minutes walk from Park Ave Residence.

Robertson Hill (also Sturges Park or Mount Robertson) is one of the volcanoes in the Auckland Volcanic Field. It’s scoria cone reaches 78 metres above sea level (around 28 m above the surrounding land). The scoria cone crater was reshaped into an oval sports field with terraced seating.
Seaside Park is an amazing, four-year transformation of a contaminated landfill into a wildlife haven in Otahuhu, south of Auckland, which has really given residents something to smile about! Although the area has always been known as Seaside Park, now it really lives up to expectations befitting of its name!
Middlemore is the largest hospital in South Auckland. Located within a 6 minute drive to Park Ave Lodge it is very convenient for guests. Middlemore Hospital offers secondary-level (hospital and specialist) care and a selected range of community and domiciliary services for the population of Counties Manukau – the area that stretches from Otahuhu to Port Waikato.
You can catch the train south from Otahuhu Station one stop to Middlemore Station which is adjacent to the hospital. Alternatively it takes 15 minutes to walk to Middlemore Hospital from Park Ave Residence
Middlemore Hospital also provides niche specialist tertiary services for regional and national consumers in orthopaedic and plastic surgery, burns, spinal injury rehabilitation, renal dialysis, and neonatal intensive care.

Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT) is located conveniently close to Park Ave Lodge and is within walking distance or a short bus or train journey to the campus. The drive to (MIT) will take approximately 8 minutes.
